"If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God
and do what is right in his eyes,
if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees,
I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians,
for I am the LORD who heals you."
Exodus 15:26
"Bless the Lord, O my soul;
and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all thy diseases.
Who satisfies your mouth with good things;
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's."
Psalm 103:1,2,3,5
40 years in the desert
the Jew's clothes did not wear out
their feet did not swell
Moses never aged:  at 120 years of age
His eyes were not dim nor his natural force abated
Awesome!
Deuteronomy 8:4, 34:7
Is not this the fast that I have chosen?
to loose the bands of wickedness
to undo the heavy burdens,
and to let the oppressed go free,
and that you break every yoke?

Is it not to deal your bread to the hungry,
and that you bring the poor that are cast out to your house?
when you see the naked, that you cover him
and that you hide not yourself from your own flesh?

Then shall your light break forth as the morning,
and your health shall spring forth speedily."
Isaiah 58:6-8
Music:  I Am The God Who Heals You
We fear sickness
We fear disease
We fear cancer most of all

but the truth about cancer is

it cannot cripple love
it cannot shatter hope
it cannot corrode faith
it cannot eat away peace
it cannot destroy confidence
it cannot shut out memories
it cannot destroy love
it cannot silence courage
it cannot invade the soul
it cannot lessen the power of the resurrection
it cannot quench the spirit
it cannot kill eternal life
God designed us to live forever
but not in these corruptible bodies
It is soul sickness, spiritual disease that God wants most to heal,
that's why Jesus lived and died and lives forever
in order that we might be healed.
the condition of our spiritual health
determines our physical health

The Word of the Lord is like a balm
soothing, healing, refreshing, restoring, strengthening
All of us have experienced the brokenness of a friendship or close relationship.  We wonder what happened, why did they do this to me.

Always remember that the Lord is Jehovah Rapha and He can heal a broken heart.

He knows exactly what you're going through.
He's been down that road before all because of you and me.

He was despised and rejected by men (the truth is, He still is today).

His best friends deserted Him; they were nowhere near Him when He was placed on a cruel cross for something He did not do.  And before that ordeal was over Jesus perceived that even His Father had forsaken Him:  "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?!"  Don't you think that might give Him some perspective on a broken heart?

Many people may say that it was the spear in His side that killed Jesus when He was on the cross.  Others say He died when he was fully dehydrated.  Other say, He died because of the great blood loss from the crown of thorns and stripes on His back.  I believe that Jesus died on the cross of Calvary in part from a broken heart.

He was carrying the weight of the world upon Him.  He knows what it is to carry a heavy burden.  He's been there.  He knows what it is to give your all and still be rejected and forsaken.  Because He knows, He can identify with your hurt and He can heal it.

Jehovah Rapha is right where you are; He is the friend of a wounded, broken heart, and the only cure for it.

Friends may fail you, your family may fail you, people you trust the most may fail you, but Jesus Christ will never fail you, and He longs to heal you, inside and out.
"If I could just touch the hem of His garment, I would be healed."  And she was.

Jesus is still the Great Physician
never off duty
always on call

He will give you a transplant - a new heart
He will give you an infusion - His Holy Spirit
He will give you a good prognosis:  Eternal life

"Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin
Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean,
wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.
Make me to hear joy and gladness
that the bones which You have broken may rejoice.
Create in me a clean heart, O God
and renew a right spirit within me."
Psalm 51
Death itself cannot separate believers in Jesus Christ
from the love of God

Death is the ultimate healing for only through physical death can we receive the incorruptible,
eternal bodies He has promised
and with that the Glory of His Presence eternally.
