"Fear ye not, stand still,
and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will show you today;
for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today,
ye shall see them again no more forever.
The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."
Exodus 14:13-14

"Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you,
O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, be not dismayed;
tomorrow go out against them for the Lord will be with you."
II Chronicles 20:17
Music:  The Battle Belongs To The Lord
Yes, we all face battles,
but we have a great and powerful, never-lost-a-battle-yet God!!!
          When we stand firm, God will be out front in the battle as our banner of victory and our Deliverer.  "Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might." (Ephesians 6:11)

          We need to be sure we are at all times dressed in His battle armor.  When Paul speaks about the shoes being fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, he wasn't talking about running shoes.

          The shoes that the soldiers wore in Paul's day had spikes, anywhere from one inch to three inches long.  They were made for standing firm.  They were made to help the soldier stand tall and strong.  They were not made for backtracking and running away from the enemy.

          Many Christians today run from the problems instead of standing firm with God to defeat them.  God never says, "I will give you the speed to run from your problems."  No!  He says, "I'll give you the strength to stand firm and the power to overcome.  I am right here with you to give you the victory."

The Lord is our warrier when we worship. (Exodus 15:3, 2 Chronicles 20, Jehoshaphat worshipped the Lord before, during and after the battle!)

The Lord is our Defender when we give Him the battle!
Life is full of battles, scripture tells us that.
A battle between good and evil.
A battle between right and wrong.
A battle between walking by faith and walking by sight.
A battle between righteousness and wickedness.
A battle between the powers of God and the powers of the devil.

When we raise our hands in triumph,
we can call on Jehovah Nissi, the Lord is my Banner of Victory,
then we can count on the victory!
He not only brings us victory,
He makes us victors with Him.
With Jesus Christ, we will never lose a battle - never!
With the recent terrorist tragedy in America, we need to believe that God will be our victor in this great battle between good and evil.
